  • NIBIO will bring in expertise of biophysical, especially soil health monitoring methods and data analysis
  • Lead WP1 (Capacity building needs assessment and preparing training modules for targeted actors), Gender integration
  • Contribute to the capacity building program of Module 1: Precision Agronomy practic-es/crop management ; Module 2: Precision Soil and Water management, and Module 3: Rice value creations and Markets
  • Bring its experience in dissemination and knowledge sharing, etc. Digital Apps to sup-port SRI , Networking & coordinate with IPM decisions platform, and
  • Lead WP3 and overall project coordination and management, ensuring efficient adminis-trative and scientific coordination and management of the project.

Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI)

  • TARI will coordinate project activities at country level, selecting location and target group and other stakeholders
  • In addition to the co-leading of WP1 and lead WP2, TARI will facilitate the translation of training materials in local language (Swahili) easy to understand by farmers and extension workers
  • TARI will organize on farm trials, seed production units, and local training workshops as planed in the project in the five districts and link with local stakeholders as per the project work plan. This will include working with policy makers to address policy issues affecting rice value chain development.
  • TARI will also document success stories from the project sites for the purpose of out scaling
  • TARI will provide logistics for field visits to the on farm/demo trial sites to the project team: NIBIO and Indian scientists.
